Aphramd B takes a bit more skill than that of the rest of the characters as his weopons take out very minuscule amounts of energy. Apharmd B was designed as a Melee (Close Quarters Combat) type virutaroid. The only weapon that does a significant amount of damage is his 'PUNT BOMB' (Left Trigger + Right Dash).
The pattern to defeat Tangram with the Punt Bomb is to land it twice, right after the he exposes his eye. In fact, you'll have to fire the punt bomb right after you avoid the last set of ring lasers, then fire off 2 consecutive Center Weapon Tonfa Beams (Left Trigger + Right Trigger) to let the LW weapon charge up enough to land another Punt Bomb, all before his fist set of Cluster Lasers. Avoid his 3 sets of Cluster Lasers with Jumping or Blocking as detailed above, then let loose a Punt Bomb and another CW Tonfa Beams before his single blue huge laser. Again, avoid it like I detailed above, and you'll have to land another Punt Bomb, CW Tonfa Beam, CW Tonfa Beam, Punt Bomb combination before the eye closes. If you land it all, Tangrams energy should be around 45-50%. Repeat the steps for the second go around.
You can also defeat Tangram using Melee tactics. Apharmd B can use his powerful Close Quarters Tonfas to inflict huge damage. Instead of using the usual Punt Bomb and Tonfa Beams, after avoiding the last set of ring lasers with a Jump, then quickly Jump Canceling- move close to Tangram by simply pressing 'Up' on the direction pad. If you reach Tangram with it's eye still closed, just press your Center Weapon CQC attack (Left Trigger + Right Trigger) and it should still inflict tons of damage. Do another CW CQC attack. Avoid the 3 consecutive Cluster Lasers again by jumping 3 consecutive times which then Tangram takes a Pause. Do a single CW CQC attack during this pause. Tangrams next attack is his single blue laser, which is avoidable again by just running to either your right or your left (left or right on the direction pad), not dashing. When you feel that the laser beam has stopped (going on gut feel, rather than visually- so you'll need some experience) or you are enough out of the way to the side, do a Jump then quickly Jump Canceling to face Tangram. It doesn't matter if it's eye is in front of you at this point. Just make sure you keep in CQC range so that you'll perform melee attacks. If it's eye is not in front of you, you'll automatically move to the eye when you do a CW CQC (melee) attack. Do as much of these before it closes it's eye. Repeat.
